
He enjoyed watching sports but was especially an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, as well as a St. In 1980 Don and Glenda built a home on Grand Lake where they enjoyed many weekends with family and friends. Glenda passed away in 2013 of dementia with Don being her caregiver for several years. They were married the following year and went on to have 57 years together. In 1951 Don met Glenda Post at a night club in Joplin, Missouri. Another strong relationship existed with Al Black and daughter Debbie, who lives in Reno, Nevada. A year later he was promoted to traffic manager, a position he held until his retirement in 1990.ĭuring his working career, he enjoyed lasting relationships with Dale Fuzzell, Jim Benson, Paul Reed, Stuart Droms, Tom Hoffman, and Gerry Warren. A year later he became assistant traffic manager for Dewey Portland Cement Company in Tulsa. In 1962 Don left the Santa Fe Railway to become Chief Clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railway. He was promoted to Tulsa in the fall of 1955. He jumped at the opportunity to go to work for the Santa Fe Railway in Chanute, Kansas in September of 1954. He joined his brother, Bill, who lived in Kansas City, who worked for TWA Airlines. Don received his degree in Transportation in 1953. He and his high school and Navy buddy, Al Black, enrolled at the University of Arkansas in September of 1949.

Don joined the Navy in 1945, serving aboard the Battleship U.S.S Iowa which relieved the U.S.S Missouri in Tokyo Bay and became the Flagship for the occupation of Japan at the end of the war.ĭon was discharged in December of 1948.

Bill survived the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Both brothers served in the Navy during World War II. Don had one sister, Geraldine, and two brothers, Bill, and Merle. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.ĭon was born January 6, 1928, in Duenweg, Missouri to William and Lena Endicott. Services to honor and celebrate the life of Don Endicott will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore, Oklahoma at 10:00am.
