I also have updated my Samsung to One UI 5.0 and 5.1 (Android 13) recently so I don't know if that could be related?Īnyone noticing issues with their Samsung devices recently?īeta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback. I am not sure if it is related to the update (npm, room-assistant) I have done. In the past, it usually had more issue with iPhone (probably related to power management) than my Samsung devices. I've looked at it, I'm not getting any error, it just seems to have trouble detecting my phone. Some time later, I realized that Room-Assistant seemed to have issue detecting devices presence, mostly mine (Samsung). Updated everything, resintalled/updated Room-Assistant, no more error. This was due to the fact that my Pis were running on repository that had only older version. Had some issue recently where I realized that my Room-Assistant was returning lots of error, mostly related to the version of npm I had. Use it to detect my phone (Samsung) and my wife's phone (iPhone). It runs on 4 Pi Zero W spread across the house. It worked fine, while I had it.I've been using Room-Assistant with Home Assistant for a couple of years. That being said I can recommend the system. I then learned about the Unifi binding, and how it could also track people’s movement within the house (by tracking which AP they were connected to.) So in an effort to reduce the gadgets laying around in the rooms of our house I decided to remove the Room Assistant nodes. I had an access point in most of the rooms of the house (its a solidly built German house with thick brick walls).

Unrelated to this, I upgraded my home wifi network using Ubiquiti’s Unifi line of equipment. Its a known issue with her model of Samsung phone. After some investigation I discovered that it was the bluetooth signal from the Room Assistant nodes (R Pi Zero W). She couldn’t connect to the wifi, nor her smartwatch. It takes some tweaking of the RSSI settings to get the accuracy desired, but that wasn’t a problem.Īfter setting it up my wife complained of phone problems. But not because I was dissatisfied, but because it was overtaken by another event (which I will explain.)īut to answer your question, Room Assistant worked fine. Bottom Line up front: I am no longer using Room Assistant.
